Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions
How quickly can care start? (updated)
In many cases, we can begin care within a few days of your consultation.
Are your caregivers trained and background-checked?
Yes. Every caregiver goes through a thorough screening process that includes background checks and skills training before they are ever placed with a client. We do not cut corners on this. Your family's safety is the foundation of everything we do.
What if the caregiver is not the right fit?
It happens, and it is okay. Finding the right match matters more to us than anything else. If something is not working, just let us know and we will make it right.
How much does care cost?
Costs vary based on the type of care, number of hours, and your specific situation. We discuss pricing transparently during your free consultation so there are no surprises.
Do you work with insurance or Medicare?
Comfort Harbor Home Care is a private-pay service. We do not accept insurance or Medicare at this time. Payment is made directly by clients or their families. Please contact us to discuss rates and scheduling.
Can I change the schedule as needs change?
Absolutely. Care needs evolve, and our plans evolve with them. We build flexibility into every arrangement from the start.
What areas do you serve?
We currently serve families across four Maryland counties: Howard, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, and Prince George's County. If you're unsure whether we cover your specific area, give us a call and we'll let you know right away.
What is included in a free consultation?
Our free consultation is a no-pressure conversation about your loved one's situation and needs. We'll listen, answer your questions, and help you understand what care might look like. There's no commitment required.
Can your caregivers administer medications?
Our caregivers provide medication reminders to help your loved one stay on schedule — but they do not administer medications. If medication administration is needed, we can discuss options that include our Part-Time RN.
